When the pen tip presses against the glossy display, it doesn’t represent the feel of pen on paper but is instead slippery. It does well with correcting the jitters of a slowly-drawn line, though isn’t perfect. That said, it’s better than the Surface Pro 3 Pen. The function buttons on the rubberized grip are easy to accidentally press while writing. Aside from this, it’s highly accurate and responsive once the users gets used to the action of the stylus.

Microsoft technical evangelist Bruce Harris has unveiled new details for Microsoft’s augmented reality headset, HoloLens. At an event in Tel Aviv, Harris was recorded (via Petri) saying that that any universal Windows 10 app will run natively on the device, as we’ve already heard, and that developers will naturally need to create 3D apps to realize the HoloLens’ full potential.
But Harris also talked about how the device features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, describing it as “totally wireless.” In fact, he said a wired version of the HoloLens would not be available. This brings up the question of battery life. Apparently in this department, the HoloLens will be “very much like a laptop.” That means up to 5.5 hours of basic use, and 2.5 hours of high-intensity use.

For the past few years, fans have been anxious for Microsoft to drop its Lumia branding and roll its smartphones into the Surface device family, which was expanded last year to include the Surface Book. This could be on the horizon, as rumours suggest that the company may be gearing up to release the last Lumia device it had in pre-production.After that, the company will allegedly begin working on the first smartphone entirely conceived and produced by Panos Panay and the Surface team, who now handle all device engineering.
Existence of the device is still unconfirmed, but early rumours suggest that it will be a high-end flagship powered by an Intel CPU – think Surface Pro 4, but with a smaller footprint. It is also rumoured to be arriving in the second half of 2016, around the same time as the Windows 10 Redstone update.By now, Microsoft has pretty much nailed down its ideal design for the Surface range, and it shows. The Surface Pro 4’s magnesium alloy chassis is attractive and sleek, with an eye-catching angular design sensibility.
